water softener eczema

Eczema Free Forever

What is the best thing to do for hard water, a plasticizer or individual filters on the sink and shower?

We have hard water, high in calcium and magnesium. I think it may cause my face to break out and eczema. It is also very difficult to get the shampoo to foam. And after I wash my hair is dry, nonshiny and does not consider clean. When I take a shower at the gym-my hair is completely different. It is soft, clean, bright and shiny. I also wonder if this is to help my adult acne, which I can not get rid of, and eczema. How expensive and invasive is a water softener installed? Can I just put a filter on my shower head and under my sink?

Putting a filter inline is probably not your answer. Installing a water softener is the only way to solve your hard water problem. There are several types available. Find a local plumbing supply house, call them to see if they will test your water. They can then tell you what size softener you need by testing your water. It should only take 3-4 minutes for a basic test. Most softeners will remove up to 5ppm of iron and some magnesium. Installation can be complicated, and set up can be overwhelming. Read through the installer instructions. If you are familiar with it, do it. The best source is www.aquasystems.com. If you can not find info online, call them. This is everything they do and they love to do it.
