goats milk eczema
Why milk effects me more than cheese?

I have asthma, and gave up milk, which helped a lot. If I have any milk by accident, I can usually tell within an hour as I get wheezy and have to use my inhaler. We tried goats milk (my boys also have eczema, which have improved considerably when we dropped the dairy), but it had the same effect. The second night on I went out to dinner and the only thing on the menu I could have (veggie as well, just to complicate things) was goat cheese. I thought I might as well give it a chance and I was ok. A little tight in the chest the morning after, but no where near as bad as with milk. So why is that? Is lactose decrease in strength when made into cheese? What do you think?

If you get wheezy, it's not lactose intolerance is an allergy. You are allergic to some of the proteins in milk. In fresh milk these proteins are intact and highly allergenic to you. In cheese, milk proteins age and partially destroyed the measure of the bacteria used to make cheese. The degraded proteins are not sufficient to trigger your allergic reaction. Milk allergy can be very dangerous, especially when they result in respiratory symptoms. Your body can suddenly become more severely allergic to milk and you can suffer a fatal reaction from eating cheese. It is safest to stay away from all dairy products! People who are lactose intolerant lack an enzyme needed to digest lactose, milk sugar. The excess sugar is digested of bacteria that produce gases that lead to abdominal pain and diarrhea. People who are lactose intolerant can often eat yogurt and cheese because lactose is predigested by bacteria. Lactose Intolerance is not an immune response, so it's not an allergy.
