gentle naturals eczema
Has anyone used Gentle Naturals Baby eczema Cream with good results?
My son has bad eczema and I have tried everything. We are fragrance free, I love him moistened throughout the day, I use caladryl for itching and he even has some lotion the pediatrician gave him to help. None of this works. In fact the only, lotion the doctor gave I have done is to facilitate the areas where I have used it, my sons back like a leopard. Now I am thinking of trying this cream, but I wanted some feedback first. Is it good and it works well or should I save my money? I am currently using Lubiderm fragrance free lotion and Dove Sensitive Skin Fragrance Free paediatricians per his instructions. I get to the point where I'm going to ask for a referral to a pediatric dermatologist, because I lose confidence in his pediatrician, and I feel my baby has become a guinea pig. Oh tried Vaseline, did not. My baby kept slipping from my hands, he was so fat. I think we have tried almost everything but this cream.
I took my 5 months old to the dermatologist for his eczema. He recommended the following, and it has really helped a lot: 1 – bathing the baby in lukewarm water, warmer water dries the skin. 2 – use cetaphil soap and lotion. Use soap if necessary, underarms, private areas, skin folds. 3 – apply lotion on damp skin, which means that immediately after he bathes, just DAB him dry with towel do not rub, you have 3 minutes from the time he asked is over to get lotioned him up. 4 – baths should last no longer than 10 minutes-bathing dries the skin. 5 – Avoid fragrances such as perfumes, fabric softeners and in soaps and lotions. 6 – apply lotion several times throughout the day. 7 – to spots twisty-neck, wrists, ankles, inside of elbows, back of knees, or use aquaphor vaseline, is also several times during the day when it wears off. (My son is very red in those areas and it helps a lot, I prefer aquaphor, vaseline spots) 8 – heat, sweating makes it worse, keep him cool. 9 – certain foods can cause eczema, depending on the age of your child, you want maybe take him to an allergist, my son is allergic to cow's milk protein (had other symptoms) so he is on a different formula. The Gentle natures baby eczema cream did not work for my son. Also I have a lot of different creams and lotions I bought that did not help. I am finally starting to understand that this is a maintenance thing and that I need to provide continuously to ensure that he is cool and moisten. My mom's cat was making his eczema worse, also my father's cigarette smoke, although he did not smoke in his house on his clothes and would impede the child. It has gotton much better since I started doing all of the above. There is no magic formula for to make it go away as much as I would love it. I deliberately searched for eczema question because I know how frustrating it is to see your little one will be red and itchy. I dislike using the cream for the doctor prescribed because it is a steroid and not good for long term use. My doctor told me that I can use baby Benadryl when he has a bad outbreak and is really itchy, I have not had to use it yet, but your doctor can give you the right not based on your son's age and weight.
