Anything I can do to make my baby's cheek rash go away?
All tells me my daughter's sweet cheeks but the unfortunate thing is that her skin is sore and irritated. I've tried so many ointments: Aquaphor, Lansinoh, A & D, vaseline, Triple cream, and Gentle Natural's eczema cream. They can make it a little less red, but that's about it. The only thing that works, OTC hydrocortisone, but I do not want to use it too much because it is a steroid and prolonged use can damage the skin (I have abused hydrocortisone with my eczema, so I know). Also, as soon as I stop using it, rash comes right back. My baby is nearly nine months, but she has had this problem when she was only about three months old. She has no teeth, and I see no signs of childhood diseases. I thought she was teething problems too, but it has been going on for a long time and still no teeth. I have spoken with my PED, and she recommended to keep it moistened and ultimately end hydrocotisone. But it came back.
My son had it, so I had him allergy tested .. Turns out he is allergic to egg whites and slightly allergic to milk .. I will ask ped to take a blood allergy test to see if it is the cause.
