Biological and non biological washing powder?
Hello. Does anyone know the difference between bio and non bio washing powder? I mean, what is the difference in ingredients difference in use, the difference in how it washes and so on? The reason I ask is because we have a toddler and I just bought bio by mistake when we normally do not use bio (out of habit rather than to know why I'm doing!) As my son has a touch of eczema, I wondered if I should be alone through non bio and whose bio would make eczema worse. Any info about bio, no bio topic would be great. Thanks
A biological washing powder contains enzymes that break down stains and dirt, while in the wash. A non-biological washing powder not contains these enzymes and it is the big difference. Sometimes the enzymes can be artificially created, so they are better able to removing stains, especially those who are very deep and dried on the fabric. Some people with very sensitive skin may find it better to use a non-biological powder, although this may not as effective in getting rid of spots! With regard to environmental effects, neither system perfectly. While the enzymes present in a biological washing powder may take longer time to spread in the environment, temperatures for washing can be lower than for a non-biological powder. The non-bio powder could take a higher temperature to do the same wash which uses more electricity and water, and this also has an environmental impact.
