Swim with eczema?

Im going swimming but I've got eczema. If I put epiderm on before I swim, have a quick shower when I get out of the pool and go home, which will take 5 minutes to get a decent shower. Will it affect my skin to leave it 5 minutes to put my other creams to lock moisture into the skin. Thank you. I know it's a bit of a long question but would like some info on swimming with eczema or other skin diseases. All responses from swimmers with eczema would be great. Thanks again.

edlest my son has severe eczema, he is covered head to toe with it. He participates in swimming lessons once a week. I donot bath him by the pool, but wait till we get home, there is only a short walk away. The chlorine dosnt seem to make a big difference to actually eczema the way it follows him, but visually wise it looks better for about a day after. (He still has claws) I use emulsyfiying ointment similar eperderm about him before swimming only a small amount tho at his worse areas. After swimming and have his bath at home use I think layer of emulsifier and this seems to be ok for him. Im from the UK but im a member of an eczema support group and a lot of parents are from us. Thet actually put bleach in bath water, 1 / 4 cup for their children with eczema, they say it helps to stop reoccuring infections. I would not do this, but in a way that chlorine is a type of bleach, so hopefully will have the same effect.
