eczema ear canal treatment
eczema – light therapy. Does it work?
I have only been treated for my eczema by a general physician (steroid cream Triamcinolone in the ear canal). I saw Doctorology of eczema can be treated with phototherapy. Someone who has it done? Did it clear up and stay this way or do you need to do it regularly (ie something you keep at home). I've never been to a dermatologist, but this episode, I thought that maybe I should? My current treatment is cheap, but if I can handle it up, there would be even cheaper in the long term and far less painful.
Oh, honey …. I was plagued with this from childhood to adulthood and triamcinolone was my friend too. My childhood was miserable, and I also have the ear canal problem. Thousands were spent on my eczema and dermatitis. I hated my skin and wanted out. What changed it for me? A couple of things. One, I began to take an allergy pill EVERY DAY if I felt I needed it or not, 365 days a year. I take OTC claritin. Two … the ONLY cream I use is Aveeno in stand-up tubes, no lotion (which has lanolin and parabens, knows eczema-creators). Do not get anything other than ordinary one. Use it every time your skin gets wet. For my ears (which were always getting infected in the channels, ouch), I mixed half white vinegar and half alcohol and stored it in a little penny bottle. Every time I come out of the shower or when I talk on the phone, I put it on a Q-Tip and clean inside both down into the drum. I am an RN, and finally found my way to almost eliminate the problem and it took 30 years.
