eczema dairy intolerance
Should I get an allergy test?
I have bad eczema and my diet contains a lot of dairy, soy and glueten. Would it be worth having an allergy test to see if I have developed an intolerance to anything? Would it be free on the NHS?
The food allergy path is rarely a good one. The majority of patients who have an allergy to this type can tell yourself what it is that they become uncomfortable in response to something every time. If your practitioner is sensible your practitioner will do the tests just to keep you happy and to avoid sending the hair or something equally useless to a quack lab. only is required is a RAST blood test for dairy, soy and wheat, and a serum transglutaminase as gluten intolerance screen. (Most Labs will no longer do a 'blanket' RAST test more. They are used in the past, but it was decided that they were generally not all that useful.)
