What are the side effects of cortisone injections in cases of eczema?

Hello, I have eczema in my legs from about ten years ago or maybe more, and I use cortisone ointment from 3 months ago but my doctor wants to inject me with cortisone in the infected tissues, a solution for each leg, two weeks, I'm 21 years old, my question is: 1-Is OK to be injected with cortisone because I am a little bit afraid of the side effects, I think you do advise me to do it? 2 – What are the side effects now and in the long term? And thanks

Despite the potential side effects, studies have shown that serious side effects are rare when dermatologists prescribe long-term continuous low potency corticosteroid therapy for up to 10 years, or intermittent mid-potency topical therapy of moderate to severe eczema. It is important that dermatologists closely monitor patients who use corticosteroids at any time. Dermatologists usually will not prescribe oral or injected (systemic) forms of corticosteroids, unless atopic dermatitis or other chronic eczema is severe or topical agents have not worked.
