Can we reduce my grandson's Nut Allergy?

Question:

Our little grandson has nut allergies. It last attack was so alarming that my daughter has received an injection of 'gun' in case of further problems. Because I care for my grandson sometimes I also have a "cannon" and antihistamines. We are clearing our closets of all food with nuts and reading labels on everything we buy. Can you suggest something to help her and tell us why this problem is growing?

Answer:

An allergy is the body outwitted by a substance which it perceives as an invader. The word allergy comes from the Greek word 'Allo' different meaning, and "ergon" means activity.

Our bodies are very intelligent and is programmed to deal with foreigners: for example, we will develop antibodies against bacteria and infections and if we get food poisoning, the body defends itself by eliminating the 'other activity' by vomiting and / or diarrhea. Some people are more sensitive to allergens than others, and their bodies go on red alert when they see a threat, they are sick of atopic conditions, primarily asthma, eczema and hey fever.

But sometimes the allergic reaction can become violent. In one severe case, your body goes into a state of what is called "anaphylactic shock". It would not be a single particle of the enemy substance entering the system, and thus closes all places, and even stops the circulation of blood. So bronchial tract enters an acute choking spasms, the lining of the throat swells up and eyes and face also swell, due to leakage of fluid into the tissue space. While the heart goes into shock response (which stops the circulation).

In these cases have a special 'detective' mission is mounted by the body. Lining of the gut and airway path have cells that can detect intruders before they enters the blood. When this occurs, messages are sent throughout instruct the body to react aggressively. Before they even digested, allergens such as nuts, shellfish and some proteins such as eggs are identified, and the reaction starts. The body literally chokes.

There are two main reasons why allergies of all kinds is growing. Firstly, Our immune system is much less strong, particularly because of stress, so our resistance is low, and our bodies feel they have to struggle more violently. Second, the large number of foreign particles have multiplied many thousand times in recent decades. This is new to our body, we do not recognize them or have the means to treat them and our bodies response is' get rid of them! "Every year, for example, about 1,000 new synthetic chemicals have been designed and launched on the world market. These are contained in conventionally produced food, especially those that are genetically modified, and many products we use every day, from drugs and shampoo to air fresheners and fire retardant funds used for furniture and textiles. So our bodies have to work much harder to handle.

There is no magic cure for severe nuts or shellfish allergies. They are, as you know, potentially life-threatening, so you should keep the "gun" handy at all times. These 'guns' contains epinephrine, which shock the body to function normally again. It is also useful when suffering wear MedicAlert bracelets (for more information, tel: 0800 581420), to warn people about their allergy, and what you saw in the event of an emergency.

You can help your grandchild by improving its resistance against the allergen

Make sure that her general health is good, so she does not react violently in the event of an invasion of nuts or other items that she may be allergic to. Follow these simple guidelines:

* Give her fresh organic food, freshly prepared at home, and two to three times a week Juiced fresh carrots, apples and ginger root (see recipe, right) to raise her energylevels.

* Do not give her canned, preserved, processed or finished products, yeast products (like bread, pastries, cakes, pizza) 'citrus fruits, all foods with additives (such as' junk food ')' candy and chocolate or other sugary foods.

* Massage her neck and shoulders. This helps improve blood flow to the brain and thus a function of the pituitary gland that controls all of our hormones (chemical messengers in the body). Twice a week, gently rub and blow in the neck and shoulder area with fingertips, using sesame or any other natural oil.

* Consult a qualified homoeopath. Homeopathic remedies can help to get used some allergy sufferers, making then 'indifferent' to the allergen.
